Ezekiel 1:9-10 - Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
I was speaking at Golden Eagle’s Church in Golden Lake, Ontario about two weeks ago. Pauline Wilcox is the Pastor of this wonderful little first nation’s church in the Algonquin Nation. The church overlooks one of the most pristine lakes in that part of Ontario. I felt very blessed to be a part of that service and to have had that scenery as a backdrop while I was speaking.
As I was meditating on what the Lord wanted to say into the destiny of the people gathered in that place I heard the Holy Spirit say, “what about the four faces of the angels in Ezekiel 1:9-10. I remembered this passage but I couldn’t picture the four faces at all. So I opened up my bible and read again about the face of the man, lion, ox and eagle that each of the living creatures had.
I said, “Holy Spirit, what does this passage have to do with what I am saying here.” He first said notice how the angels in verse 9 move effortedlessly one with another. He said that the end time church will be a united church that lives in community with each other, preferring one another and honoring one another. They will be known for their love and kindness to each other.
He then began to speak to me about each of the faces that these living creatures had and what it represented for the end time church.
The face of the Lion represents the boldness of the evangelist that is going to come over the church as they stand up for the things of Christ. In whatever they find themselves doing they will stand true and confident to the callings that are upon their lives. They will not hesitate to share the good news of the gospel and they will gladly and boldly represent Christ wherever they find themselves standing. They will declare the gospel in love but they will do so with authority. All that is false will not stand in the face of this gospel of peace and love. All pretensions and arguments not of God will fall to the wayside as they speak peace into the hearts of the nations.
The face of the Ox represents burden bearing and intercession. The people in the end time church will be known as a people that cry out to God at all times for the deliverance of his people. They will stand in the gap and carry great burdens in prayer. They will see into the spirit over people’s lives and once they know what God wants to accomplish they will be like a dog on a bone, not laying down their burden until they see God’s will come to pass in people’s lives.
The face of the Eagle represents the prophetic nature of these communities. Joel 2 and Acts 2 speak of a church that sees into the spirit through dreams and visions. This church that is rising is a seeing church. They will know God’s heart regarding individuals, churches, communities, states/provinces, and nations. They will see over great areas. The Lord will raise them to high places in the spirit so that they will see what is coming next, and as they see it they will release these visions to the body who will in turn pray and release God’s destiny into the earth.
In this way a new day is dawning for the body of Christ. We are rising to where we were always meant to be. This is the dawning of a church that is evangelical, prophetic, burden carrying and compassionate and filled with love.
I see this church rising in our nation of Canada and I see it rising in the lives of my friends in other nations. I declare that the church is rising to its place in this the final hour.
Call out for God to come and impart this vision of the church into your heart and into the midst of your communities. You are an Ezekiel church and as you walk into this call you are walking into the end time church. Amen!
